Purpose

The purpose of Item No. 5-590.00, the KY 329B (Veterans Memorial Parkway) Corridor Planning Study, is to determine needs and evaluate concepts to improve safety, reduce congestion, access management and improve multi-modal transportation options along KY 329B from the I-71 Interchange to State Highway 22 (Ballardsville Rd).

Project Scope

This study includes a full analysis of existing conditions along the corridor that will be used to develop practical solutions and improvement concepts to improve safety, reduce congestion, improve access management and improve multi-modal transportation options along KY 329B.

The study will focus on short-term and long-term improvements that can be used for further project development and implementation. The consultant will develop draft goals and objectives for any feasible project(s) chosen for further development following both KYTC and FHWA guidance. This work will clearly identify project issues, goals and needs along the corridor.

Public Input

A public meeting will be held on August 15, 2024, from 5:00-7:00 PM EDT at Crestwood Baptist Church.  The purpose of the meeting will be to share existing conditions data and seek input from the public about needs along the corridor.

Handouts containing information about the planning study, comment sheets, and displays will be available at the meeting. Representatives from Oldham County and consultants will be available to answer questions and receive input. Written and oral comments will be accepted during the meeting, and feedback will be accepted through September 3, 2024, via an online survey. 

Written and oral comments from this meeting will become a part of the official record for the potential project. Once compiled, the meeting record will be available for review and copying only after an Open Records Request has been received and approved. All Open Records Requests must be submitted to the Engineering Department of the Oldham County Fiscal Court, 100 W Jefferson St, La Grange, KY 40031.

Final Report and Published Findings

The final planning study is expected to be completed in February 2025.
